Boiling the Papaya and Oranges
The Papaya and Oranges have different texture and different boiling times. The oranges are harder (if you leave on the orange peels) while the papayas are soft and mushy. You can make this recipe without the orange peels – which would give a lesser orange flavour jam.
Papaya And Orange Jam Recipe
- 1 Large Non-Stick Deep Cooking Pot
- 3 Large Seedless Oranges
- 1 2kg Large Papaya
- 500 Grams Granulated Sugar
- 20 Grams Stem Ginger
- 2 Cups Water
- 1 tbsp Pectin Powder (Optional)
- Wash and Peel the papaya
- Scoop out the papaya seeds and dice the papaya into cubes.
- Dice the oranges into small cubes (You can peel the oranges)
- Peel and Grate the Ginger
- In a large pot, boil the water, oranges, papaya, ginger and sugar until very soft. This is usually anytime between 1 – 3 hours on medium heat.
